A rather elegant and reserved Sauvignon Blanc. There's a sense of tranquility through the silky midpalate, with toned-down Marlborough aromas of honeydew melon, pear and elderflower. A little residual sugar (5g/L) gives a lick of sweetness on entry and fleshes out the palate, but the sweetness is balanced by the gently refreshing finish (although I'd personally prefer to see it even drier). A textured, restrained impression with partial fermentation in neutral oak and 20% malolactic conversion.
