Dancing Hares Vineyard performed incredibly well in this relatively cool, late vintage. The wine, like the vineyard planting, is blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Each variety developed at a distinct pace in the vineyard, giving us a broad spectrum of flavors and textures with which to blend. The color in the skins was dark, opaque purple, and the wine possesses this same attribute. Aromas and flavors are bright and expressive, showing notes of black cherry, vanilla bean, sandalwood and smoke. The palate impression is intense and focused, with plenty of fruit packed in a framework of solid, but polished, tannin. While expressive, full-bodied and hedonistic right now, the wine will continue to develop well in the cellar for 15-20 years or more. decades of evolution and enjoyment.
