Hess Allomi Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Allomi is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest 11% Petite Sirah and 3% Petit Verdot. This comes from Pope Valley and is a solidly made wine, aged 18 months in about one-fourth American oak. Dense purple, with notes of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit with some licorice and soil undertones, some oak is also present in this full-bodied, slightly rustic, but chewy, fleshy wine to drink over the next 7-8 years.
Wine SpectatorA solid if somewhat muddled presentation, this is intense and offers plenty of dark berry flavors. The oak comes across as dense and earthy, like chewing on a piece of bark. Drink now through 2023. 51,242 cases made.
