Rodney Strong Symmetry 2015
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Alexander Valley|
Brilliant pale gold in color with enticing aromas of jasmine, white peach, tropical mango and fresh-cut lemon. Opening with a juicy acidity, the palate is richly weighted, showing layers of pineapple, green melon, and a crisp, refreshing grapefruit finish. The crisp, clean acidity and lush fruit of this 2019 Sauvignon Blanc will nicely complement most lighter preparations of fish, but it has me yearning for a big bowl of salmon poke. It also pairs beautifully with summer afternoons, good friends and good conversation.
This is a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. Thick and viscous, it shows a wealth of full-bodied oak, tannin and tobacco flavors in tune with brambly black cherry and currant. Lifted acidity on the finish keeps it fresh in feel.
An open-knit style, featuring moderate plum and cherry preserve notes, laced with toasted vanilla and tobacco details. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec. Drink now through 2020. 7,000 cases made.
